PROTECTING RAINFOREST THROUGH ECO-FRIENDLY BUSINESS ENTERPRISES
Eco-friendly business enterprises provide the lifeline-support of the whole Rainforest Conservation Convergence (RCC). By patronizing these eco-products, the people, especially the consumers, are educated to refrain from using toxic, synthetic and hazardous products. Through these enterprises, the consumers are repeatedly reminded that by patronizing eco-products, they help not only the local farmers and vegetable-oil growers but also the general rainforest conservation efforts, whose funding partly come from these eco-business enterprises.
Jathropa Nursery and Plantation
Eco-Life is pioneering the planting of jathropa on its 200-hectare gmelina forest plantation in Mayantoc, Tarlac and in key areas of the Zambales Rainforest. It establishes technology-driven nurseries with customized seedlings and growing medium to cope with the most harsh soil conditions in the denuded forests. It plans to contract out jathropa farms in neighboring forest plantations and will buy-back seeds as feedstock to its own modularized biodiesel refineries and other jathropa oil refineries in the area. This jathropa nursery, plantation and feedstock trading is stand-alone project that will assure Eco-life of its continuous revenue-generation that will finance its rainforest conservation programs. At the same time this viable business enterprise will ensure a socially-rewarding livelihood for the people living its area of operations.
Oleo-Chemical Products
Through its partner-cooperatives and micro-enterprises, Eco-life is supporting oleo-chemical (plant-based) products that are bio-degradable, renewable and affordable. By patronizing these eco-friendly products, the people, especially the consumers, are educated to refrain from using eco-hazardous products (that are toxic, non-biodegradable and imported). Besides, they are repeatedly reminded that their purchase of such eco-friendly products directly support the local growers of raw material and the people behind the general rainforest conservation whose funding partly come from such eco-enterprises.
Supplier of Eco-Products
Eco-Life attempts to play a unique role of ‘Eco-Product Supplier’ to the NGO community by directly promoting oleo-chemical products to all NGO’s, cooperatives and other private sector communities. By actualy promoting these eco-friendly products, Eco-Life is able to help NGO’s to be true in their words and in deeds.
