Protect The Rainforest Through A Knowledge-Based Development Initiative

Embarking on a knowledge-based rainforest conservation, the Foundation engages in experiential eco-education in three ways: a) ecology tours b) public seminars c) web site.

The Foundation supports Ecotourism. According to The International Ecotourism Society (TIES),

“Ecotourism is responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people. Ecotourism is about uniting conservation, communities, and sustainable travel. This means that those who implement and participate in ecotourism activities should follow the following ecotourism principles:

  • Minimize impact.
  • Build environmental and cultural awareness and respect.
  • Provide positive experiences for both visitors and hosts.
  • Provide direct financial benefits for conservation.
  • Provide financial benefits and empowerment for local people.
  • Raise sensitivity to host countries’ political, environmental, and social climate.”

Towards this end, the Foundation assists in promoting ecology tours offered by the private and public sectors and organize ecology tours as may be requested by groups and companies.

The Foundation, as a part of its eco-education, also organizes public and in-company seminars to disseminate information and advice on global warming, climate change and environmental practices in order to develop an awareness of the importance of caring for our environment.

Through this web site, the Foundation shares the latest news and information on how to live an eco-friendly life and sustain eco-systems.
